The 3 Primary Symptoms Of Type 2 Diabetes

by Carl DiNello

When trying to identify diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes, you must have a willingness to take a hard, honest look at your overall health, and be honest regarding any symptoms you may be experiencing. It is an unfortunate fact that thousands of people every year who are suffering from one form or another of type 2 diabetes, choose to ignore the symptoms until it's too late.

It is recommended that you read the below list of type 2 diabetes symptoms very carefully. Should you be experiencing one or more of these symptoms in your life you should see a doctor immediately for further testing.

1. Have you experienced a slower than normal healing of your skin, your gums, or urinary infections? - This symptom is usually an indication that your bodies white blood cells are not effectively doing their job. Your white blood cells are designed to help with your healing, and to act as a defense against infections. However, in a high glucose environment these white blood cells do not work very effectively. This ineffectiveness can also result in the development of infections that are caused by bugs who thrive in a high glucose environment.

2. Constantly feeling thirsty, along with frequent urination – Continually feeling thirsty, 24 hours a day/seven days a week, without being able to quench this thirst is a very common side effect of diabetes. In fact, it is also a symptom of type 1 diabetes. The high glucose environment associated with diabetes can severely dehydrate your body, preventing you from retaining the water that you are drinking.

3. Does heart disease run in your family, and have you tested positive for heart disease? - Heart disease affects a huge number of the US population, and unfortunately; heart disease can and does often lead to diabetes. Should you have heart disease it is very important, that in addition to whatever measures you are taking to aid your heart disease, that you also ask your doctor about the possibility of your developing type 2 diabetes, and just what preventative measures you can take.
